Cataract surgery co-management means that your optometrist, Dr. Noll, and a cataract surgeon work together to help you through the cataract surgery process.
You’ll have a consultation with Dr. Noll. During this appointment, she performs an eye exam to evaluate your cataract. Then, she discusses your surgical treatment options with you, including the different types of lens (IOL) replacements available.
Having a healthy ocular surface prior to your cataract removal is the best way to ensure good results. If you have any chronic problems, like dry eyes, Dr. Noll treats those issues to get your eyes healthy before your surgery.
Dr. Noll refers you to an ophthalmologist for your surgery. An ophthalmologist is a highly trained medical doctor who specializes in eye surgery. Your ophthalmologist removes your clouded eye lens and then places your new IOL during outpatient surgery.
After your cataract surgery, you’ll typically come to Dr. Aimee Noll, OD, for your follow-up appointments. Dr. Noll communicates with your eye surgeon if you develop any post-surgery issues.
Dr. Noll wants you to get the very best long-term results from your cataract surgery, and that’s why she’s always available to help you through each step of the process.
